All
staff of the Better Way understands that the disease of
addiction causes physical, mental, emotional and spiritual
problems with the addict/alcoholic and their family. The staff
is trained, educated, dedicated, and experienced with helping
our clients to leave the addictive lifestyle and the
drug/alcohol abuse to live a healthy and sober life.
Student
interns from various universities, such as Howard University,
Bowie State University, University of the District of Columbia
and other community counseling training programs are referred
from their school to gain on-the-job training, while working
toward their degree. Finally, the Better Way Program is an
approved NAADAC (National Association for Drug and Alcohol
Counselors) education provider, where workshops on various
topics are conducted to maintain ongoing addiction education
training for counselors, social workers, case managers, etc.
